LAB5: new Ozone generator for high-level disinfections

Protea launches LAB5: the latest generation ozonising system for high-level disinfections.

LAB5 is a compact and effective system, with a simple and safe operation.

Designed and built to perform shock treatments in confined spaces, LAB5 is particularly suitable for food industry environments (e.g. laboratories, packaging rooms, food processing rooms, cold storage rooms, etc.) in which the bacterial load must be constantly monitored in order to comply with the required hygiene standards.

The other sector that LAB5 addresses is health: environments such as clinics, surgery rooms, waiting rooms, medical offices, etc. need an effective and constant sanitization process with the aim of maintaining the most disinfected environments possible and thus avoiding contamination between patients. LAB5 is a system able to perform a quick, effective, safe sanitization and above all without releasing by-products in the environment. We want to remark that the products normally used for disinfection are chemicals (e.g. Chlorine, Chlorine derivatives, Sodium hypochlorite, Quaternary salts of Ammonium, etc.) which leave harmful residues in the environment and, moreover, are less effective than Ozone !

Ozone, as a gas, can also sanitize areas that are hardly reachable with ordinary cleaning. Once Ozone has finished its action, it simply converts back to Oxygen without releasing any by-products. This is why Ozone is a valid and natural alternative to conventional products (it is also recognized as part of the certified organic supply chain).

Constant use of LAB5 allows to prevent the formation and spreading of bacteria, mites, smells, viruses, spores, moulds, etc. Here below is a partial list of the microorganisms which are easily eliminated by Ozone:

  • Alternaria
  • Aspergillus
  • Bacillus subtilis
  • Botrytis
  • Candida
  • Escherichia coli
  • Hepatitis
  • Influenza
  • Legionella
  • Listeria
  • Monilinia
  • Penicillium
  • Phytophtora
  • Pseudomonas
  • Pythium
  • Rotavirus
  • Salmonella
  • Staphylococcus
  • Streptococcus

Cell wall lysis caused by Ozone.
